Why dont you just ask your neighbour how much he is looking for it, i am sure that with him owning the car for so long and keeping it very well maintained he is going to have done his research into how much it is worth, as stated it isnt every day you come across a mint full serviced mk2. If it was me i would be looking towards the 3k bracket as for that type of money you are looking at a mint one that has been very well maintained
