Had a problem with the VR6 yesterday in that it had a flat battery when I went to start it. This has come out of the blue and once we jump started it I drove to work, came back this morning and started it this afternoon without any problem. Spun over very quickly. I have confirmed that the alternator is charging and that the battery is good.
I have noticed something though........I sat in the car this afternoon and heard a click in the drivers door and the revs dropped as if the alternator was put on load. This seemed to happen approximately every 30 to 40 seconds. I suspect that when Hazel drove it the night before the click may have happened as she shut the car down and then caused the battery to drain.
Any ideas what is causing the clicking........I suspect it is something to do with the electric windows that have had gremlins ever since I purchased the car but it could it be the alarm/immobilizer module or something sending a close signal to the window every 30 odd seconds?
