Its all down to how good your actuator is if you have a forge one and a 3"tip then 270+bhp, the forge b
Tip restricts the top end flow, buy the badger5 tip as this is proven to flow much better.

I'm gonna get the forge actuator then for sure

I have spoke to bill He is currently out of stock but making more soon so I'll grab one of those too once available.

Car is going into the bodyshop first end of this month and the remap will be happening straight after

It's all down to air flow, what bill found with the tip transformed how we can tune the ko4-023, in the past the ran stupid egts to make the power, even spec1 maps  260lbft 240bhp will make the manifold glow bright red.  If you get a chance u can port the manifold collector with a demill.
I have a the same spec engine in a bora 4motion coming down from Scotland for a full custom map with badger 5 tip, I will pm u the logs once mapped.

Yes let me know the results

On a side note, my mate has same engine as me (but only in a S3) he has had the dreaded manifold cracking that happens on these. He has a cast one coming from the states with a life time warranty, he is only paying about £200 for it. seem a bargain!

As for manifold cracking, the oem mapping contains a modled or actual egt thermal component protection map to stop such issues happening. If mapped wrong then it's easy to crack a manifold.  We tend to keep these protection maps in play to stop stupid egts, ad you many know the BAM stage1 remap will make the manifold glow bright orange.  We can make the protection map work how we want depending on the heat build up.

keeping things within sensible ranges is very optimal.

i do quite a bit of work for a guy who's quite heavly involved in motorsport and automtove desing,   got him to have a look at a mates 350+bhp mk4 gti a few months ago as i'd got f**ked off with putting his engine and turbo back together

the car had 3 maps,   std, fast road and track.  problem was if you ever did a track day on the track map the engine would surely eat itself ether at the event or within a week or two.

so it went on the rollers and stuff was measured,  turned out the diffearance between the track and fast road maps were the track map made a couple more bhp, the power deliver was horrible everythign got hotter and it was trying to knock all the time.   couple of hours and a few new bits later,  cars makeing more power with better delivery and things are running a lot cooler.  and it survived long than it ever has done before without a bang

all the VW's have gone bar 1.
