What do I need to remove pressure plate?
« on: 07 July 2011, 22:59 »
Decided to have a crack at removing the clutch etc from the new engine today. Flywheel and clutch came off fine, but the pressure plate doesnt want to move. Its locked in place, but the bolts are really shallow and my socket just keeps slipping off and I'm affraid of rounding them off. Any suggestions as to what I could use to get them off? They are on much much tighter than the specified 25nm torque! Had a go on the old engine too and I managed to get 2 off but that was it!. Help!

Bolts are tighter than that and have locktite on them.
Lock it in place, then get a decent fitting socket on them.
