Decided to post this, maybe it's a known thing but it sure came as a surprise to me.
As some of you may have seen from my bonnet release handle thread (still haven't got the thing back together

) I've been cleaning up my interior on one of my golfs (that and rust/hole fixing to the chassis).
Anyway, the pouches on the front doors have two join seams, between this is an (approx.) inch gap. Now I had cleaned the door panels as best I could and thought how clean they were. Since I was cleaning them in the bath I lifted one out, and as the water flooded out, so showed up bits of paper which weren't visible from either side of the seam, they had been stuck in this inch gap of plastic.
So, I started to keep dunking the panel in and out of the water, which led to the discovery of further sweet wrappers, cigarette packet wraping, etc.
Well up till now I'd thought the drivers side was very clean, but after seeing how the passenger trim panel was still dirty I had a go with the drivers door which I'd not dunked.
Well!
two penny coins
one five pence coin
six fishing hooks
one stanley knife utility blade (of the larger variety!)
more cigarette wrappers/cellophane
various sweet wrappers.
And poking a screwdriver into the seams poked out alot of mud.
So if ever you've lost anything and were sure you put it in the door panel.........

And finally while trying to sort out the cable and bonnet release handle I found a crisp packet stuffed up beside the fuse box

And to think I'd finally got it all clean, and then found all the above!
