Bodywork recommendations prices.
« on: 01 June 2013, 19:37 »
There a bit of a long list of things I want done on my Mk3. I am looking for a recommendation for a bodywork shop or person that would take this on and if anyone could give me a rough figure of the price i'd be looking at.

My Mk3 has some rust on the rear arches will need cutting out welding, two new front wings, sills are rusty not sure of full extend of problem but say new sills both sides for now. After that a respray, I know its a lot of work but I don't minn spending money on the car as I've grown attached to it

Anyone give me a rough idea of the price I'd be looking at and also if anyone know someone who would do this around the Essex area that'd be great.

Its an almost impossible thing to put an accurate price on, you'll get some on here saying about £300 a side, up to many thousands for a proper job...
So my best advice would be to find someone you can trust, and then discuss a budget with them, but be prepared for any budget to go straight out the window, after a few weeks work! Falling out over a blown budget is very common, so a good relationship between yourself, and the Bodyshop is imperative
Contact local clubs in your area, and see who's recommended... certain names will keep popping up
