Exhaust fitting question

I am about to fit a new front, middle and rear box to my 8 valve Gti. The front box I removed fitted directly on to the downpipe. The replacement front box pipe is of the same bore as the downpipe so will obviously not be a direct fit. I guess I must need a short pipe to sleeve over the end of the downpipe and the start of the front box pipe. Would I be right, and do I get the connecting pipe/sleeve from GSF and Eurocarparts? Also does the sleeve come with clamps at either end? Any other useful fitting tips would be appreciated.

if they are all the same bore then you shouldnt need any sleeves or anything like that. the end of each section is slightly flared so that it can clamp onto the end of the section in front of it

Gambit, the end section was flared on the old part I removed. The new section is not flared, it is the same bore as the end of the downpipe. The Haynes manual illustrates the use of a sleeve, however, I thought this was only for early GTi's and not later models. Has anyone recently fitted a new front box to the downpipe? It seems my old front box may have been manufactured to avoid the use of a sleeve.

They have a sleeve with 2 clamps fitted that goes over both pipes to join.GSF and Euro should both be able to supply.

Got the sleeve okay from GSF, however, I think the rubber mountings they also gave me for the rear box are too small, any ideas where to get the right sized ones. It is the circular ones that attach to the double mounting on the back box.
