Mark3 engine into a Mark 2 go-left...
« on: 07 April 2005, 17:20 »
Hello people.

Im sure you've been asked this many times before but...

I have a mate who is killing a Mk3 with a 2l 16v block in it, and he's willing to give me basically anything I want.

So at the mo I have the block, clutch/gearbox, driveshaft and ecu.

I need to acquire a wiring loom aswell but the point of the post is what am I missing / what else should I acquire in order to make it a wholesome conversion?

All suggestions greatly welcomed.

hi mate and welcome to the forum

the coversion you talk about can be done but i think its a big job. It would be a dame sight easier to change your bottom end, ie

2.0 bottom end in place of you're 1.8 8v, to get the same performance gains, but then again if its all free then why not. Of the top

of my head i think you will need the engine, gearbox, ecu, wiring loom but i'm not to sure what work is involved in the exhaust

system.

I'm sure the other guys will give you some good pointers
