Sunroof Wont close

hi guys, my sunroof for as long as ive had the car wont close, it will open under its own power but wont close again, people suggested the switch but i tried that and no luck, ive looked up the fuses but from the manual they seem to becontroll stuff like central locking as well and they all work so it cant be tht, Any help anyone? i dont want to replace the motor for it just not to work

i had a similar problem with mine,turned out that there was a small piece of metal which had broken off and wedged it self in the channel stopping it from closing properly.had to remove the glass to get to wasn't to bad to repair.

Well if you have power to the motor then it would suggest the motor is duff.

i dont think it would be anything in the runners cos i can manually close it easy enough, guess im looking for a new motor???  :embarassed:

Have you tried closing it with the total closure system when locking the doors with the key

I've gota motor laying around somwer u can have. I bought it when my sunroof packed up I hoped it was the motor turned out to be a new sunroof! It's in good condition pm me if your interested!

Where you located? Perhaps someone could temporary try their motors?

Take the motor out and see if it will reverse. If it does, check you have 12v at both wires.

If you do, probably a dodgy join in the motor.

If it opens under its own power then why would the motor be at fault??
