removing rear beam . . . ?

probably a stupid question, but . . .

im planning on dropping the rear beam to do axle bushes, so wheres the est place to put axle stande on the back?

Usually just in front of where the beam is mounted as this is a strengthened area for the beam... This where I put mine on the mk1 anyway.

problem with that is you've usually got a jack on it at this point.  :grin:

Not me gov, I use the sills hahahahaha

Anhow this raises a serious note, never jack on your rear beam as you may bend it  :smiley:

Ooo god, never use my sills, especially since they're all straight now!

Good point about the beam... I hope you know I wasn't suggesting that, I was suggesting the beam mount point, just in front of where the beam is mounted.

Hello dude,



Thats where I did mine with blocks of wood underneath each jack, on the square part box section.

As the others have said, aslong as the chassis is ok.
