I recently changed my disks on my 1.8 driver. They were solids at the front. As a future mod, what do i need to change to be able to use gti disks for bigger disc and better braking? Do i need gti calipers?

Nah, just fit some 8v GTi disks and pads, the calipers are the same, it is just the pads are thinner to allow room for the vented disks
