Service indicator - how to reset.
« on: 05 April 2005, 14:18 »
Hello all,

Don't know if this will be of any use to anyone. I do alot of servicing my self and feel this will be useful in the future. I just bought it of e-bay for 99 pence and thought i would share it with you all. I don't know if it works or not as i only buy my mk4 tonight. Morally it should only be used after you have serviced car.

TO RESET YOUR LIGHT ALL YOU DO IS WITH YOUR IGNITION OFF HOLD YOUR MILEAGE (TRIP METER) BUTTON IN AND TURN YOUR IGNITION ON IT SHOULD THEN SAY SERVICE NOW ALL YOU DO NOW IS LET GO OF YOUR TRIP BUTTON AND THEN TWIST YOUR CLOCK ADJUST BUTTON TO THE RIGHT AND HOLD IT LIKE THAT TILL SERVICE NOW DISAPEARS IT MAY TAKE YOU A COUPLE OF ATTEMPTS BUT IT IS AS EASY AS THAT.
