mk3 1.9 TDI push start install
« on: 05 June 2011, 18:20 »
hey there.just need to pic your brains for a min.i recently got a mk3 1.9 tdi. great wee car. i got 1 key with the car not alarms fobs or anything like that.the only thing the guy i got the car from told me was that to start it.you have to put the key in.prime igntion wait for the glow light etc to go out.then put foot on the brake and start the car. if you didnt put your foot on the brake then the car wouldnt turn over or anything.but sometimes it just wont start at all.no turning over or anything.

is there a relay that could cause this?

is there a way of bypassing the starter on the ignition and installing a push start button direct to the starter motor?

As fir the problem, How long is a piece of string.....

By your asking how to wire in a start button I presume your saying that you have no idea about car electrics so my advise would be seek pro help. If your close call in and I'll help run you through the basics of car wiring and how to do your starter button.

And yes you can bypass the ignition but I'd use a relay.

Where are you located?
