Camshaft Swap
« on: 11 March 2005, 12:52 »
Hi
I will soon be changing the tappets on My 1989 1.6 Driver and I am considering swapping my camshaft for a GTi camshaft as I have heard this is possible. My question is, is it simply a case of taking mine out and replacing it with the GTi item whilst taking care with timing etc, or is it more involved than this? Does anything else need to be swapped as well? Also what difference will this make to the drivability and performance of my car? Lastly, Is it necessary to inform my insurance company? I know if I play it by the book I do but surely there is no way of them knowing.......
