MOT on Sat
« on: 24 May 2011, 09:15 »
Just been readign through the MOT check list onlien to see what they test and what will fail etc etc

Now got my mate coming round on friday to wire up my sidelights, Ive also got a new MFA stalk to fit which im told should sort out the Hazards as when you put them on only the passenger side light flashes, I know both indicators work but was told it might be a faulty mfa stalk and to replace it but again ill get my mate to check that on Friday

How anal can soem testers be?

On the list there is no mention of them testing electric windows for example but i know for a fact my driverside on doesnt work as it needs a new regulator, would they fail that? can see on the check list any metnion of windows

They only things I can honestly think of would be my front top mounts and the rear driverside wheel bearing

im just stressing abit as well money isnt something i have a lot of at the mo and its goign to the tester on sat and they are only open 9 - 1 and im in work in town 9-5 so having to leave money with my parents to pay the garage and pick the car up for me and just have visions of an call saying its got xy and z wrong with it  :undecided:

I think you'll be ok with the windows, I've never seen a tester try them to be honest.  It's doors they'r more concerned about....  Whats up with your top mounts?

Meh, don't mention money, since mines past and I had a couple of weeks of fun in ive had to park it up... got issues that I need to resolve before VolksFest on a 0 budget.

Good luck with the MOT!

Ah right, yeah good call.. Um, I think you may be OK with your boot unless they want to check your spare wheel, if they cant get to it the may not be impressed???

I was given an advisory for 2 years on external passenger handle not opening, but it failed this year cos of it.something about safety, if someone has to get you out in a crash..well what if its locked? Or the doors caved in and doesn't open. Stupid rule, you'd smash a window if needs be!! Windows aren't tested, neithers central locking. Same with added lights, if you have them, they've got to work. If not just remove them...
