New guys thinking of a golf

Hi all just signed up was thinking of getting a golf mk5 was wondering if anyone can point me the right direction about what to look for when im looking for one ive always had Jap cars and know next to nothing with German cars. Was liking this one but the bit at he end of the description was putting me off.
