My main criteria for a tyre is how long they last. The best I have come across for the money is Firestones. I get around half again the mileage on them compared with Goodyear Eagles. They're not so good in the wet, I guess due to the harder compound, but I just drive accordingly

Anyone ever bought their tyres online and then had them fitted? I was thinking of buying some from here:-

http://www.mytyres.co.uk/start.html

Seems a good price and my local tyre fitters only charge £5 per wheel for fitting.

^^ i looked at mytyres and blackcircles before going to my local tyre place, who were an approved fitter for them. i can't remember how it all works but it seemed to be a bit more complicated then i first thought. something silly like you had to buy the tyres from the website, get them delivered to the garage, arrange a date blah blah blah, when in reality the tyre place was cheaper than the websites in the first place, so i just got them to do it!

I've orderd two sets of tyres from Mytyres now, both times they were much cheaper than i could find locally and they arrived on my doorstep three days after ordering.

A VR6 isn't a way of life, it's just a car.

My tyres rock!

I always get the tyres for the mini from there and they are cheaper than any place round where I live. I'm lucky that my local tyre centre is run by a mini enthusiast and he charges me nothing but the costs of valves and weights to fit tyres on my cars.

I think I might just have to give them a try. Thanks for the feedback.

Have ended up ordering from mytyres and they should be here on Tues.  Eagles in the end, as seemed to be the best compromise.  Will be on the car as soon as I finish the Sebrings!
