take out an old seat from your car and compare the two seat bases. have no idea what the mk4/octavia bases are like but see what would need to be done to get them to fit then get your handy mate to either cut away the base of the mk4's and weld on your old seat base or see if he can fabricate some kind of adaption for them. but what ever you do you'll have to strip the seats completely if your gonna do any welding or they'll go up in a puff of smoke!
