Considering selling my golf :(
« on: 02 May 2011, 00:03 »
well im considering getting a 2ltr or vr6 or even a saxo vts for abit of fun as my 1.4 just isnt fast enough to be honest!

Well il try and list things best i can i always forget stuff:

its a 1.4 p reg with 92k on the clock with service history the owner was a old lady before me no proof unless you want to meet her?

10 months mot 4 months tax

when i bought the car i got rid of any rust i could find to prevent future problems, sanded down the whole car and fully chalked the car to try and be different :)

i then bought coilovers to slam it and put it 135mm but ended up raising to 110 all round

i got bored of all black so i painted bits orange - wheels spoiler and added stickers such as vdub u scrub etc which can easily be removed if not to your taste

So info summery:
10 months mot
4 months tax
service history
92k genuine miles
alloy wheels with 2 brand new tires and other 2 with plenty of tread left (they have been curbed before tbh)
lowered on coilovers with 2 years warrenty
chalkboard bit of fun easy to maintain
great on fuel as its a 1.4
sports duel slash exhuast
new rear brake lines
dizzee cap roter arm.
No dents AT all.

bad points:
chalkboard? not to some peoples taste
needs a new downpipe 40quid from euro car parts may end up replacing anyway) as this blows from the flexi part, as i lowered it and reversed up a curb and dented the downpipe
passenger cv joint has gone drives fine but as its so low couldnt handle pressure i guess

photos to come! what kind of price am i looking at?

only photo i have currently without door trims or indicator block things or stickers

I would stick it on Edition 38 etc as it will appeal to someone in the dub scene more than anyone else and a lot of first time drivers will pay for it as its small engined.

As for price, to the general public as its painted as a chalk board, its worth scrap value.

To the right person in the dub scene, whatever they will pay, £500? £700?

Other than the paintwork and damage from lowering it sounds a good motor tbh!

Why would you go from mk3 to saxo? Are you 12 lol!

Get yourself an 8v mate. There pretty revvy and you can still use the forum lol. Unless the mods decide to put another board in under "saxo".

ive had saxo's before and mk3s are cool but just not quick enough.

and only reason id go back is i struggle to find bits for the mk3s because they are too old.
my local scrap heap said they dont even accept them?

Parts for mk3's are out there, personally never had a problem. If insurance is a issue get a vts or gti8v if not get a 16v or a vr6
Saxos are definitely good fun, do miss my vts a lil bit every now and then.
Personally quite like your motor.

just little things like door cards i ended up paying £30 quid for because they where so hard to find? and ive been looking for a decent set of wheels/exhuast for months and never really found anything much

thanks dazza insurence isnt to bad as admiral multi car is brilliant :D

to be honest im tempted to just get both!
