newby... help and advise needed

hey all, i have recently got myself a mk4 v5. i need help in

1. the no. '5' on the badges are red... i've seen others in silver... does this mean anything?

2. im looking to fit mk5 wing mirrors onto mine. i know there was a thread somewhere... can anyone guide with links...

Don,t always go by the badge but as a rule red 5 means 170bhp but check log book.

Early ones, think pre 2000ish are 150 bhp and have 10v heads and a single coil pack, usually has the ht leads running across engine cover. The later models came with 20v head and 170bhp and had individual coil packs.

Good smooth engines with torque from the start but starting to regret getting rid of my 1.8t now to be fair :cry:

thanks to all, ive got the 170... just thought (wishful thinking) it might have got the strenght of the 'R'

also thanks to dolphinfriendly for the website... are there none in the UK? shipping costs will fcuk me
