Quick question....

Do i need Xbox live membership in order to use microsoft points to buy games online or can i just usethe points without membership..?

Its just i want to buy a game but don't wanna subscribe.

u need to be signed up to xboxlive to download games, if u havent already u get 1 month gold live free then will go to silver after that month which u dont pay for

So long as you are at least a Silver Member (free) then you'll be fine.

anything thats has been released with in the last 2 weeks wont be available to download till after them 2 weeks on a silver account
