Problems with RNS510
« on: 02 April 2011, 11:45 »
Hi All

So I started the car this morning, the 'Welcome to Volkswagen' screen came on, then nothing happened.

It seems to be trying to reboot itself, the screen switches on and off repeatedly.

None of the buttons have any effect, except for the on/off switch.

Any thoughts?

On the plus side - it's forcing me to listen to the soundtrack from the engine

Cheers

Martin

Thanks for all the advice guys

So, the RNS510 is rubber-ducked and needs to be replaced.

VW are offering 40 per cent contribution which I think is quite mean, and would leave me to fork out in the region of 1100 quid.

Has anyone got one of those Kenwood built in navs? Does it interface with the Hi-line LED screen on the dashboard like the RNS510 does (or used to in my case!).

Cheers

Martin
