Alternative to coilover spanner needed

im pretty sure i read a post somewhere recently about adjusting coilovers with another tool (not the spanner) i cant remember what that tool was, can anyone shed some light on what to use?

You can buy replacement spanners on ebay, search for "c spanner". Theyre not expensive

Ok I'm pretty sure it was a oil filter wrench. Does that sound right?
Allegedly it gives a better over all grip.
