Power steering boot split help!!
« on: 29 March 2011, 19:44 »
Have used the search but can't see much on the subject my passenger side power steering boot is split, I'm after some advice on how to change it and where to source a replacement part from. Any help greatly appreciated.

Cheap as chips you can buy a set from any good auto place for about £10-£14 with grease!
Very simple job drop the track arms slide the new boots on makes sure its greased up then cable tie both ends to secure it.
Remember to mark where the track rod ends where (Tipex the bolts and thread) its original set place is, so its not too much off, but you might want the tracking done afterwards, if its not pulling right.
If they are the non adjustable track rod ends you will need to split the ball joint to get access to the length of the rod so you can slide the boots on.
