Common problem or Not?
« on: 23 March 2011, 08:27 »
Hi, there guys,
The problem I have with my 2000/2001 Golf Gti AUM engine is.

When started from cold i.e in the mornings. if i push the accelerator gently to pull away the engine will do this odd thing;

The idling will bounce from 500 to 1000 RPM, and I wont be able to rev it at all.

The only way I can stop it is by turning the engine off, and restarting then accelerating hard and it then goes away.

another odd thing there's is no fault codes in the ecu.

anyone had this problem?

i will take the throttle off and clean,, air mass meter would show a fault code though wouldn't it?

Not necessarily, could be reading wrong but within limits and not bring up a fault.
