I dunno about lowering with the amount of speed bumps etc. I had a 1.6 driver lowered on Koni/Eibach and it was really nice actually but rolled too much. This time im doing ARBs first :)

what are the other options for other brand ARB's? i know we've mentioned eibach ( who rock) and also neuspeed but i heard that rallye's had significantly thicker ones that are still available and will fit the front of mk 2's, any other options or am i looking at around ?200? its something i'd like to replace but i can think of other stuff i'd rather spend the money on.

seat ibiza's have a larger front ARB that can be swapped onto mk2's - not sure which model exactly but i assume it'd be a GTI or TD model with a heavy front end!!

also AutoTech in the US do a lightweight set but they are v.expensive - www.AutoTech.com

im going for the Eibachs again

one problem that can occur when fitting the front ARB

the subframe needs to be dropped in order to fit the ARB but this can sometimes cause the subframe chassis nuts to shear meaning you need to get them rewelded

this happened on my old 16v but only cost ?25 to get them rewelded

why does the subframe have to be dropped?
i thought it just bolted up underneath in the middle and on the ends? when i changed the end ones a few mot's ago i losened the middle ones to be able to swing the ARB to make the job easier, surely it i undid them all the way the ARB would pop off?
