the changed the springs.
91>94 normal and 94>97 pig tail.
the top of the spring is coiled different.

yeah i was aware that the springs changed shape at 94 but really wanted to know how the springs were rated differently and what the max axle load differences were on the TDi compared to a 16v

TDI is a higher front axle load than a 8v/16v, TDI lump is heavier
