i fixed one of the rattles with my car..! details inside

i posted about this before and i've now sorted this?


i was told when i last had a service that some bolts "along" one side were missing.

i went into vw and asked what fixings are there..  3 are hex bolts and 3 are star washers.. months ago i bought a whole set as it came to about 2 quid for the lot.. but due to cold weather i put it off..

i thought the bolts and washers went together...

after looking over the weekend i now know that the engine bash plate thingy that goes under the engine is held in 6 places.

the 3 bolts go along the back end.. the 3 star washers push onto 'threaded spikes' at the front.


what has happened is.. the 3 hex bolts were replaced another? time my car was worked on.. but the 3 star washers were just left off... (probably busted when removed) and the mechanic didnt do sh!t about it...

so jacking the car up a little and putting the three star washers onto these threaded spikes has sorted rattle.

i'm off to B&Q later to try and buy some large circlips to put around the cat heat shield.. thats about the only rattle i have left after from the glove box and passenger door area..
