cv glued into hub, not cv glued to shaft
as i say its done on some VR6 models, i have no idea why but there you go

What Jon means is on some models the splines have loctite put on them from factory.
The outer cv joint splines that is.
I've seen this on a mk3 gti 16v, as well as a vr6.
I needed a hub puller to separate the shaft from the hub both times.

I see what you mean now. I needed a hub puller too,thought this was because the shafts are wedge shape, and they get quite literally wedge right in./
