Ball tow hitch!

Hello random question but i need to put a ball tow hitch onto my mk 3 temporarily, how do i go about this is it an easy job?

I don't think there is a quick and easy way to be honest mate.

For a start, the trailer/caravan will need electrics, so these will need to be supplied from the car.

Normally to fit a towbar you have to remove the rear bumper, remove the support bar, and bolt the towbar in place of the support bar, then refit the bumper. But by doing this you normally have to cut a hole in the bumper for the towbar to go through :(

So technically there is no 'temporary' way.

well. installing some hitch is easy. I got my cheap hitch installed my mechanic, or I think there are some diys in this forum and other forums. You just have to search it online.

Praise the lord for my valver having a dealer fitted tow hitch from new as it saved the rear end of my motor a few months ago when someone did a hit and run into me.
That said it was a ballache to remove this past weekend due the bolts rusting solid onto the bumper crossbeam and no room for real access or leaverage. Out came the trusty disc cutter and whipped it off before i was able to pull the back bumper off so i could get to the poxy butchered rear lighting loom. Mutha funking VW dealer cretins!   :angry:
