I run a de-cat on all my motors.
Yes there is defiantly a improved throttle response. But the main reason is to prolong the life of my cat, as its only used for one day a year and I not forking out for a new one. 
I'm thinking about getting one just to change the tone, because I don't want to buy a fall system. I like my standard one
