im sure it'll be nice but the price will be stupid like all new vw's these days. Also for that price why only make it front wheel drive as it will understeer just like a vxr...

prob true actually, Vxr's are terrible for ths tho, im put off them badly, not that they are a bad car (they are actually pretty good), but coz of the amount of young chavs that keep bringing them into my mates bodyshop!!  love the seats tho, much better than what comes in astra version

for me its a good all round car with fuel economy etc and i dont race it and never will so the whole understeer thing doesnt really affect me. Only thing that can be said is that chavs do buy decent cars and then ruin their reputaion.. 306 gti6,renult 5 turbo, ford rs turbo, corsa c20xe, scoobys the list goes on so it will go down as a decent car ruined by chavs.

i hear you mate totally, and agree to an extent, look after it, in about 20 years their will be non left due to this and the prices of the ones that are left rocket up!!, im currently making the decision to return my belovid Swift GTI (i got in 1994) back to its original body colour and removing all the Max power boy racer kit i had fitted in the 90's

That new Polo GTI is awesome and no doubt an R version would be even better.

However the cost is insane! Only people with more money than sense will be purchasing them.

For that sort of money I would just go for a golf or scirocco, crazy money.  No doubt they will sell lots of them as they are a nice looking motor.
