help please ! my mk 3 p reg gti keeps cutting out and loosing all power even when driving along
it will start after wiggiling the wires around below the steering wheel but prior to doing that no lights on dash seem to light up ! ie ignition lights any suggestions would be very much appreciated ?
is it a bad earth loose connection it doesnt seem to be a battery fault as light still work etc

thanks u got any suggestions ?! funny thing is if i put and hold the main beam light switch in the dash comes to life but it wont even turn over ! to maintain the dash lights on i need to hold down the main beam light switch arm soon as i let go it goes off back to nothing bit weird to me !

probably ignition switch chap, holding main beam on is well known way to bypass a faulty switch

also could be wiring fault, so check the wiring from the ignb switch to the fusebox. if its damaged lucky for you this bit of loom is completely separate so can be replaced on its own.

get down scrappy looking at 90spec mk2, mk3, b3/4 passat, corrado, seat ibiza/toledo etc. basically if it has hazard switch on column then it'll probably work. only exception is polo/lupo as they have a different fusebox i think?  take the odl loom in there and compare it to the car you're pillaging it from
