Fuel gauge woes.
« on: 17 January 2011, 20:50 »
So I'm crusing along like a badman in my 1.6 Golf which is faster then my mates Corsa  cause I'm sick like that.

Anyway I literally watched the fuel gauge drop down to the red. Not right down but just on red. I held the trip button down and turned the key off and on again. When its in this mode the fuel gauge goes mad. Turned it off and back on and its back.

But its now sat above the red and i have no idea if its lying or not. I'm not sure if it is using fuel and the gauge isn't dropping down or its got a funky gauge or it needs a sensor or what. It didn't do it at half tank or more but did after the line before.

Sensor, gauge or wiring fault?

Where all my moneys went.

Sensor as a guess, earth the wire out on the sender and see if it goes up if so it has had it.
