Help please - electric window issue
« on: 16 January 2011, 15:54 »
Hi can anyone help me out please my car is getting soaked

I have just been replacing the door lock/handle/mech on my Mk3 Golf. Windows were up, door open, card off and electrics unplugged at door end. I was trying to get the handle, hooked up and in place, when the window came down, squashed my hand and stopped, hand was stuck in there and it was very painful, managed to get hand out though. After 5-10 mins managed to make a fist and have use of all fingers/thumb. Windows was stuck in the position it stopped at though. The other windows opened all the way also (its raining!!).
I tried connecting them up again, they wouldn't wind up. I figured it might be as this one was out of sync as the others had continued down so I opened this one fully too - motor worked fine to take it down. Tried to take them back up - nothing.........everything is getting soaked, help.

Have tried fuses, checked all connections, turned all power off for a while and then had another go, tried with ignition on and again with car started - all no help. Anyone????

Cheers,
Simon

Please ignore the above, unless that is you want to laugh at the situation  I know if it hadn't been me, I'd have enjoyed a smile  :embarassed:

Anyway since posting it, I went back out and tried again - it all worked

Everything is soaking, the handle is still not connected, its going dark, my hand is somewhat sore, I reckon I lost this one
