intermittent kangaroo!!
« on: 01 January 2011, 20:32 »
I have a Mk3 GTI that has developed a very annoying shudder at 3000rpm

It doesn't do it all the time,it will happen for a few days then it will be fine for months, which makes it hard to diagnose,it does it mainly when its hot and is like in in every gear, you can eventually drive through it up to 80mph and it almost goes away.

I have replaced,plugs,leads rotor arm,fuel filter.and numerous vacuum pipes,etc

any advise on this would be very much appreciated

Mine did that mate then started to become more frequent. next time it happens, pull over and disconnect the maf from the airbox, drive on and see what happens. The maf was the problem with mine but all I did was spray some contact cleaner on the sensor and all has been well since. Hope this helps mate
