mk1 golf clipper cab 1.8 8 v k jet engine wont start

hi i have a golf mk1 clipper cabriolet 1.8 8v k jet engine that will not start looking into this i have petrol going to the ignition prime but nowere else  apparently this is a big problem on k jet engines so hopefully some one can help me as what to do now please help cheers mark
