I find many cars squeel very quietly in the morning when it's cold outside. It goes when warm though.....

Where all my moneys went.

Yes maybe so , but not on a modern Mk6 surely? They don't all do it on mk6's :undecided:

Personally, due to experience, I wouldn't point all squeaky noises like this in newish cars to the cam belt.

I had this problem, again only in the colder months, and first decided to spray WD40 around the area of the cam belts. This obviously didn't work.
Then it got worse, so had both cam belts changed on 'professional advice'. This also didn't work.

Luckily for me I sold the car (and replaced it with Gandor) a month or so later, though (and I feel bad for this, as I'm 'usually' an honest person) took the car round the block to warm up, so the squeak wasn't audible during the test run and sale !
But, in my defence, it was a Nissan Almera which was hard to sell. And I had replaced both cam belts for no apparent reason

Still don't know what it was, but am surprised that a fairly new vehicle has this issue....

Had my mate look at my car as hes a mechanic, he said the belt at the drivers side of the engine (cannot remember if he said fan or cam) was getting damp and this was causing the noise till the belt dried off and heated up. As i had to top up the coolant at only 5000 miles he thinks the dampness may be down to a slow coolant leak. Im going to put the coolant to max and keep an eye on it and get the car into the dealers ASAP. He said its not serious, and the fact the car runs great once the noise stops and no warning lights have come on back this up. Ill re post once it has been at the dealers.

Thats the aux belt often said to be the fan belt as on cars in the early days it also drove the fan.
