If you really want a cheaper way out simply tape the original chipped key somewhere near the steering column (out of harms way) and you can use as many unchipped keys as you want to start and drive the car once the chip is within a foot or so of the ignition.

What does "coded" mean? i need to get a spare key incase i lose the 1 i have or lock them in the car like it did the other day
I see i can get a basic key of ebay for a fiver then il have to get it cut but it wont start the car, what the cheapest way of getting another key that will start the car? cheers

The keys have a coded chip inside them that disable the immobiliser.

thats what i thought but didnt realise key cutters could do that, so all i need to buy is a key with a transponser in and they can cut it and code it?
