But surely if the insurance company find these unacceptable then they will contact me and let me know this. I like the plates but not enough to void my insurance.

Illegal plats FTW!!

That steering whell FTL!!

Standard steering wheel, touch up the engine bay and you got yourself a sweet ride!

Not sure which steering wheel yet but won't be a standard one I think and when the weather warms up a bit I will be making a start on getting the engine bay looking better. Why does noone like my steering wheel ??

They do, they're just called Corsa/Nova drivers!

How Bloody dare you compare me to a Nova/Corsa driver   I have been looking at the wheels on the net but not sure which one to go for. As for your insurance Blu Mate....you get what you pay for. There are loads more VR's on the road than Anni's which is probably why you pay more. At the end of the day good quality Anni's are getting rarer and rarer and for the insurance company to replace yours would not be cheap for them. As much as I love the VR I would defo be tempted to swap it for a nice clean Anni any day Buddy.  As for the plates....I am sticking with them atm as they look good and so far have not attracted interested from Her Majesty's finest. I would gladly pay the 30 quid if needs be

Worth remembering Dean after being caught twice they can apply to have you reg removed and replaced with a q plate.

I was warned after being fined the 2nd time.

I doubt they care right now, but once all the legal sh!t starts happening that's when they will. Also bare in mind that you know they are illegal, we know they are illegal, they do not meet standard UK regulations for two main reasons, font and badge. I'm just saying.

I ran German plates until I was pulled for them, £30 fine, or at least it would of been if it wasn't for me sucking up.

My comment was that I would be prepared to pay once if collared but I would not then keep them on and keep paying. I would like to keep them but not in exchange for a load of aggro. If the old bill do me for them or the insurance company say they must go then they will go. I ain't a fool that thinks I am above the law but sometimes the better things are outside the law and all I say is that I would be prepared to take the risk for the 30 quid fine once only. We will see what the outcome from the insurance company is.

The heater control is climatronic Mate which I believe is an optional extra on a VR6 but standard on a Highline. (I may be wrong but someone will confirm either way I'm sure)  Would not go straight into a GTI as you would have to buy and install the complete system which I am told would cost a small fortune.  Thanks for the comments on the car by the way Buddy
