golf gti 8v downpipe - vr6 decat pipe will it fit help!

Right i want to buy a vr6 exhaust off my mate its had a decat pipe welded to a straight through power flow system and my car is a 8v gti  ive used the search option already i just want a few answers as not much about it on there!

1.firstly will the bolt holes on my standard gti downpipe line up with the vr6 system?
2.secondly will the bore sizes match up as its a aftermarket de cat i guess you will need to know the size well i dont know so think averages
3. i already have a decat on my standard 8v system but the rest of the cat back system is rubbish anyway the bore on mine is 2 3/4 inch which im guessing is about the same as vr6 anyhow?
4. using the search option on here i have read about buying adaptors from various places wheres the best place if needed?

VR is / should be a larger bore than the 8v.

vr cat pipe will bolt right up to your downpipe, and the 8v front silencer will fit a VR decat. how much of the system is there? if its whole thing front to back yes it will fit

edit: actually 1 potential issue. there are 2 types of downpipe fixing, some have a fixed 3 botl flange, some have a flange which will spin freely. if the vr had a free spinny type flange it may be the decat is welded up to the wrongplace to fit your downpipe if yours is a fixed flange. i hope that makes sence?

cheers for the answers yeah makes sense jonny my downpipe has the spinning flange on it so it will be ok then its a full system hes had a decat recently welded on and the middle box taken out by powerflow so should be a good system i will be fitting it next week great stuff
