young driver insurance?

Okay, my MK3 1.4's up for sale..as a replacement, im looking for a MK3 GTi

needed help and advice about insurance, there's a few lads on here which have gti's an are around 18 and just wanted to know how they've done it lol

im 18 and my mom's going on the policy, she's got 5 years nc - i have none  :grin:

just wondering if anyone had ideas as to who will give me a decent insurance quote, and any tips you guys/girls have are much appriciated to save money on insurance...

I CAN'T STICK WITH THIS 1.4...it's just not powerful enough  :embarassed: so GTi 8V or 16?

i've considered looking for a company that also do drive other car extentions but can't find anyone - any ideas?

please help LOL  :evil:
a old school car WILL break down, thats the fun part about them :-P

I was with Admiral at 18 on my MK3 GTi. Give them a try. Add a few older drivers to the policy they can bring the price down loads.

As your under 25 you'll be extremely lucky to find a company that will offer you the drive other peoples car cover. Bell used to offer it to under 25's but no longer do.

Bell who is a sister company of Admiral were cheapest for me, as Adam says add 2 or 3 experienced drivers to the policy to reduce it a bit. As far as Gti's go, I found that there was very little price difference between 8v and 16v insurance. If this is the case for you then go for a 16v  :wink:
