Mk3 heated seat wiring issue
« on: 26 November 2010, 19:29 »
Hi guys
I have a dilema, i have fitted heated leather seats to my vento which came from a vr6 golf of the same year, i have the loom but its cut into 3sections, i have solved the first section this just needed to be connected to the other side seat so i now have a loom that runs from seats through the centre console and up to the bottom of the dash. This next part is where im stuck, i have the switch which locates to the top right of the radio but need to patch the wiring from there to the bottom of the dash where the other half of the loom ends, i have the wiring diagram and this states that there are 2-3 single wires that are power feeds and states that these are either in the fuseboard area or centre of dash i have taken the centre dash apart and cannot see any spare wires, have yet to check the fuseboard, all im wondering is if anyone can shed some light on where i can find these connectors if they exist as i am only going to resort to cutting existing wires in the car as a last resort.

any help greatly appreciated

I fitted heated leather seats to my old wagon and it was pretty straight forward there was like a multiplug with different coloured plugs above my fusebox and 1 of the wires went to the earth block by where your bonnet pull is.Anyway I cant explain it to well so I found this might be of help
