Ok i found out my gearbox mount has broken,
I drive a 16v gti,
I have read somewhere on here that it is better 2 use the mount of a 1.3 golf, Is this correct,

I wondered this halfway though installing a std mount  im guessing its just cos standard is hydro and 1.3 is solid yes?

Just fitted the solid rubber mount from the 1.3 as this seems to be the best advice.
I did not trust a cheap hydro and didn't want to be swapping it again in 6 months. However, there is more vibration now on tick over but I am hoping that as it beds in and the rubber gets worked a bit that it will improve in the next few months - not that is that bad just more vibration than the old mount. Having said that the gear change etc. feels much better. We'll see!!

I might be wrong but was told the diesel is also heavier duty.
