New ICE in a Mk6 GTi
« on: 19 November 2010, 20:25 »
Right boys and girls, I am not technically minded so I would appreciate as much help as possible from this 'family'.

Back in 2005, I bought a brand new Nissan Almera SXE. As it was a new vehicle the output to the subs had to be wired up to the rear speakers and not directly to the main unit like in the good ol' days. For decent quality I also installed 'boosters' to each rear speaker. So in total I had 1 x 1000W Kenwood Amp, 2 x 12" Audiobhan subs (individually boxed and carpeted), 2 x boosters and 1 x bass controller for driver.
I am selling all of the above, apart from boosters (already sold), so if you're interested let me know. But I would like more bass in my new Mk6 GTi, but I don't want subs etc. So, I am thinking a bass tube or something similar.
What do you guys suggest, all I want is a little extra bass, nothing too extreme. And how would the fitting work, i.e. would it connect to the output of current speakers or could it connect direct (which is better)?
PS I also have radio/CD player and built in Sat Nav and controls on the steering wheel, which I would like to keep !

Thanks

The pioneer active sub seems very popular.
Maybe a read of the thread below to see what others have done as a simple upgade will give you some ideas.
