glovebox broken
« on: 18 November 2010, 10:52 »
hi all ,
on my 1989 mk2 the two sprung retaining clips that hold the glove box lid in place when open have been snapped off
so it just falls down, this is a right  pain to close as you need to use both hands
is there any way to fix this or will i have to find a 'new' lid ?

you can just replace the lid. Reasonably easily. Just a bit of a fiddle to remove the plastic pins in the hinge.

My old glove box lid had a retainer clip snapped off one side, and a bent bit of plastic glued on as a substitute. It worked ok, but would occasionally pop out.
