Got some new doors :) advise please
« on: 10 November 2010, 14:27 »
As you guys might know, i recently had a accident and my car doors got mullered. A week later my mate crashed into the oter side too just to even it up

anyways after a long time thinking, I put the car through an M.O.T and it passed, so im gunna keep her

on the weekend went to see golf786 and he hooked me up with 4 new doors! for £25

Now this weekend i have the challenge of fitting manual mechanisms, interiors, locks, handles and windows (possibly respray)

The new doors are great but the rears have no windows and all foor have no mechanisms, locks, handles or interior. (wasn't expecting perfect ones for £25!) So beore i set off on this epic task is there any guides, advise you guys could give me

Much appreciated

Jon

Window mechs and locks etc are pretty much straight forward to fit....search google gor diagrams. Are the mechanisms in your doors fooked ??  Fitting the doors is again straight forward....bolt on but you will need a hand to fit them.

cheers Deano

The mechanisms are fine in my door but the new doors came with none in, plus mine are manual windows and the doors i got were electric, so will be converting to manual.

I believe mechanisms are the same and will bolt straight in and to convert to winder then just drill the doorcard for the winder. Or if you are using your own doorcards then I believe it will just bolt in your mechanism and put the doorcard on. The actual doors are the same. As I said though you will need some help to hold the door in position while you bolt them on.
