Surely a knock-off job? :-/
« on: 22 November 2010, 11:30 »
For some time now, I have been having some problems with my car cutting out - as I have posted loadss of post regarding it lol.

Was having a browse under my bonnet today, took a bit of isolation tape off some wires and come across this . . . .

Is that supposed to be this way? lol. It seems to be the completely brown wirse, the brown and white and another brown wire with a colour on it all connected as one with the bit of brown and white in the middle of it. From what I can see, it's the brown and white wire that leads up to the Idle control valve . . . Could this be the cause of the cutting out?

Thanks

if it was me id have that section of loom off the car and unwrap it from end to end. clean it all up then investigate any damaged sections of wire. isv should have a black and a white wire though?

the brown and brown/white wires should be ok all joined together though, they run to 2 ring terminals earthed to the side of the head

You only ever need two tools in life. If it moves and it shouldn't use Duct Tape. If it does not move and it should, use WD40.

The Iac valve should be connected to the cold start valve the throttle position controll sensor at the back of the throttle body and the vaf sensor on the air box check the continuety.
