Hey guys,

Not long done an engine change on a 91 16V from the standard 1.8 to the 2.0 16V from the Corrado, after the initial engine swap, lets just say i fell out with the mechanic who was helping me do the job and as a result never did get round to fitting the ecu from the Corrado, my question is what am i losing out on by leaving it with the standard ECU and is it worth getting the job done, if so what reasons as i have heard some stories telling me the benifits would be very noticable but others tending to be bad and from what i can gather a nightmare to fit!

I would also be lookingat getting someone to do this job for me as i wouldnt really have a clue where to start and would not like to take it on. What sort of labour or price would i be lloking at?

Sorry if this topic has been touched on before but the search for this didnt come up with anything so thought id try a topic!

The only ECU you would be talking about is to control the distributor spark, advance, retard etc.  Don't go with the Corrado ECU as it the fuel injection was KE-Jetronic (cat & more advanced emission control), unless you're looking at binning the K-Jetronic?  You shouldn't be that concerned if the standard KR stuff is being used, get it setup correctly.

As above, k jet needs carefull setting up to work with the 2.0

Thaks for the answers and advice guys, dont suppose anyone knows of any goodplaces to get this set up correctly in the Northampton area do you??

Also what sort of price am i looking at for getting it set up correctly?

In the Northampton area are you?  Whereabouts?  From my own honest opinion, contact Stealth Racing in Southam, Warwickshire, expect £65 to £70 of rolling road time per hour.  It might only take an hour to do.  I had my Valver setup properly there a while back and Vince there really does know his stuff, worth the 45 minute or so drive.  Also Stealth can modify the WUR to increase the fueling higher up the rev range.

Cheers dude, I'm actually in Daventry so only a very short drive to Southam. Think I will give them a call tomorrow and get her booked in. Again thanks for the info.
