Driving to mot.

Ihave an insurance policy which covers me third party to drive other cars not belonging to me. However, i have another car with no mot which belongs to me so i was just wondering how do i drive it legally to the mot station?

basically you have to have insurance. The only thing you don't need is tax or an MOT obviously, because you can't tax it without MOT, but you can only drive it to a PRE-booked appointment, and you must have insurance

Is there any way i can get it covered just for mot? Dont want to take out a policy because ill be selling it afterwards

If you got the cash remember you have a 14days to decide you don't want the insurance and get a refund.

If you ring your insurance company they can temporarily add a car to the policy too, and to add for one day the cost will be really very small.

Or get someone else to drive it to the MOT station that does have fully comp insurance and is covered third party.

The car being driven would still need an insurance policy covering it.  For instance my insurance covers me to drive any car third party, so I drive my dads.  He has his own insurance covering his car so it's fine.  My fastback old Passat has no insurance covering it so I cannot drive it using my policy on my Golf.

spot on mate, to drive other cars it has to have tax,mot and insurance by someone else and you can't be the registered owner and keeper of the vehicle
